Nestled between the Wetterstein, the Karwendel, and the quieter heights above the Elmau Valley lie hiking trails that feel less like strenuous hikes and more like little journeys into different alpine atmospheres. Anyone setting out from here can choose a different atmosphere every day. Today, we’re heading to the Anspritze.

Arnspitze: The Wild Ridge
The Arnspitze is the hike for those who seek not only beauty but also a challenge. Here, the landscape becomes rougher and more alpine. The Arnspitz Group stretches out as a striking ridge between the Wetterstein and Karwendel ranges, and even from a distance, it seems less like a destination for a day trip and more like a challenge. Anyone embarking on this hike needs stamina, sure-footedness, and respect for the terrain. While Ferchensee and Lautersee show their gentle side, the Elmauer Alm offers panoramic views, and the Partnach Gorge provides dramatic scenery, the Arnspitze embodies the wild, untamed dimension of the region. Mountain pines, limestone, close proximity to ridges, steeper sections, and views stretching far to the west into the Wetterstein and to the east into the Karwendel. This mountain hike is no walk in the park.
