Play soccer like the pros

During the summer months, young talents train for two hours a day with professional coaches from VfB Stuttgart and RB Leipzig—two of the Bundesliga’s leading clubs.

There’s a palpable, nervous excitement in the air as the kids gather after lunch for the two-hour training camp. Professional coaches are out on the field, treating every eight-year-old like a star signing worth millions. As soon as the whistle blows, their full attention is on the ball. What makes the Elmau soccer camps so unique, however, is not just the first-class coaching, but the philosophy behind them:

  • Refining skills: Precise passing and honing tactical understanding.

  • Team spirit: The fundamental realization that a brilliant assist is just as valuable as the shot on goal.

  • The scenery: It’s simply impossible to stay frustrated for too long over a missed shot when you’re surrounded by one of the most spectacular mountain backdrops in the Alps.

Here you see children from all over the world, who often don't even speak the same language, but communicate perfectly with each other through hand signals and team sprints. It's living proof that soccer is arguably the most universal language in the world.

The final whistle

At the end of the vacation, the kids don’t just come home with better footwork. They bring back new friendships, a healthy dose of self-confidence, and that wonderful, deeply relaxing tiredness that only sets in after spending the whole day chasing a dream (and a ball) in the fresh mountain air.

“In Elmau, we don’t just teach them how to play this game; we show them how to love it,” says one of the VfB Stuttgart coaches, summing it up.
